Functuion

This disposable circular stapler holds titanium staples in annular staggered array for two concentric rings within a staple cartridge. The circular blade will automatically cut the extraneous tissue when the stapler is fired and a circular anastomosis will be formed. The stapler is mainly indicated for use in esophageal surgery, gastric surgery, intestinal surgery and etc. especially low in the rectum or high in the esophagus which is difficult to suture by hand.  This disposable circular stapler has good anastomosis performance. Compression of the anastomosed tissue should not be less than 4 Kpa,with no leakage or split.

5.1. Take out the stapler from external package and remove staple cover.

5.2. Insert the stapler into the organs to be anastomosed until the anvil is visible.As picture 2.

5.3. Open a gap between the anvil and the cartridge by turning the adjusting

knob counterclockwise until it is big enough to include the two tissue edges to be anastomosed. The tissue is covered within the range of the circular cartridge. Tighten the far end purse-string and tie the

purse-string thread to the trocar, ensure all the tissue is within the range of the circular cartridge. Then tighten the proximal purse-string and fix the purse-string thread above the purse-string tying notch. Ensure all the tissue is within the range of the anvil. DO NOT touch the interior edges of the circular cartridge or fingers may be cut by the circular blades contained in the cartridge.

5.4. If the stapler needs to be removed from an organ with one end closed, the anvil must be detached from the stapler. Then retract the trocar fully into the circular cartridge by turning the adjusting knob clockwise to avoid damage when inserting into the organ.

5.5. To facilitate the operation, apply some K-Y jelly or other lubricant onto

the anvil before it is inserted into organ for purse-string.

5.6. Insert the stapler into organ and ensure the circular cartridge is connected firmly to the tissue to be anastomosed. Extend the trocar and fully pierce the tissue by turning the adjusting knob counterclockwise. If double-stapler technique is applied, ensure the trocar penetrates out in the middle of the circular ring of staples to avoid unnecessary tissue around the anvil shaft

5.7. Turn the adjusting knob counterclockwise till it reaches the end and then attach the anvil shaft to the trocar. The anvil shaft snaps into the place around the trocar and a clear click is heard.

5.8. Close the stapler by turning the adjusting knob clockwise. While closing the stapler, keep the organ segments in proper orientation and inspect to ensure adjacent tissue or organ is not incorporated into the stapler. As picture 8.When the red indicator goes into the green area, it shows that the stapler is ready for firing.
